Grab your besties and their littles, and celebrate Valentine’s Day with the cutest “Milk and Cookies” play date party! Seriously, how CUTE are a bunch of minis clinking their milk jugs and toasting their cookies to the Day of Love?! Fun fact: the girls at sparkle and toast threw a “Valentine’s Day Play Date Party” 3 years ago when our kids were wee little ones, and that party was to foreshadow the start of this business more than 3 year later…
We were inspired by the most adorable and clever kids Valentines from Paper Source–little milk cartons with scratch and sniff chocolate cookie stickers. It’s always so fun to come up with humorous puns for Valentines Day greetings, and these “Milk and Cookies” invites were just the thing to make us smile. We definitely wanted to incorporate strawberry and chocolate flavored milk in vintage milk jugs, and classic chocolate chip cookies to our play date party. In terms of the decor, we liked the idea of mixing some black and white components to make our pink-and-red-drenched fete a little more modern and gender neutral. We added gorgeous laser-cut lace black placemats, which we love, but if you’re too nervous to use these with your kiddos, then you can omit too, that’s fine.
Finally, what Valentine’s party is complete without “X’s and O’s”? We added a fun take on tic tac toe, with a heart-themed version from Target, and Trader Joe’s XO gummies—which are sinfully good let us tell you!!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
