End-Of-Summer Castaway Party

We’re always trying to come up with fresh new ideas for a traditional “luau” or “island” themed party. The hot weather of summertime and dreams of tropical beach vacation destinations inspire so many of us to host parties in this type of theme.

We mixed elements from our travels to Bali and Hawaii, with our natural hometown environment of coastal Southern California, and came up with a “Castaway” tablescape. Basically, if you were to be suddenly stranded on an island once occupied by a village full of decorators and party planners, and raided their supply chests šŸ˜‰

Our matte black skull mugs and gold candy coins lend to the whole “pirate treasure chest” feel, and the palm place mats and serving trays along with the bright hibiscus flower plates add to our tropical island look. In addition, we styled fresh coconuts with little shells and paper dink umbrellas, added ceremonial Polynesian necklaces, a hand-carved mask from Bali, and some gold pineapple candle holders.

Next time YOU want to throw a fun “luau” party, go for this extra push of inspiration and creativity and make it a CASTAWAY inspired party and treat your guests something different and fun !
