Our last event of the year was for the sweetest couple who are full of life and were ready to ring in the new year with a BANG! They wanted to keep the style for their event tasteful, but also festive, fun, and appropriate for an energetic group of guests. Since the invitation of the party read “A Black and White Affair”, we decided to keep the decor color palette silver, black, white, and then accents of gold. Since the guests were instructed to deck out in head-to-toe black and white, we figured metallic gold was the perfect pop of color. Also, the couples home was almost entirely decorated in soft neutral colors, so the event decor and props that we brought in coordinated very well with their space.
Our signature piece was a giant photo backdrop we coined “Champagne Bubbles.” We installed two oversized champagne bottle mylar balloons with lots of gold balloons of varied sizes around the opening of the bottle that were meant to be overflowing champagne. How fun, right?! Belly bar cocktail tables were draped in floor length black linen tablecloths, and adorned with a pool of glitter on top. Then, we created oversized champagne flutes with mini gold balloons inside (to mimic champagne), topped off with a handmade disco ball cocktail stirrer (which were also on-hand for the guests actual cocktails), and finally, each centerpiece was completed with a cluster of mini disco balls. The party “dance room”needed a subtle yet interesting way to tie the theme together. We decided on dozens and dozens of black and white marble balloons that we let float on the ceiling.
We sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to read and enjoy our blog in 2016.
