We were so thrilled with the results from a modern baby shower we styled recently, and are excited to share these images with you all! Our client wanted a subtle but chic event to shower the upcoming arrival of her baby boy. Taking the reigns of creative direction for an event is our specialty, so we got to work bringing her ideas to life and had a lot of fun along the way!
The baby shower was held at a wine bar that had a lot lot of vintage wood accents and tables, so we kept the decor soft and feminine to accent the masculine and rustic style of the space, but also mindful of neutral and more masculine colors. We used a lot of black and white, with pops of blue and green. Classic black and white colors were used throughout the decor, as seen in the table runners, children’s blocks, and the adorable handmade felt donut garland. One of our favorite elements were the bold maroon Dahlias we adorned on top of our simple “naked cake,” which was a focal point for the dessert table and needed a punch of color that wasn’t too pink and feminine. A custom, handmade birch cake topper was used to accent the beautiful wood pallet wall behind the table.
The guests noshed on small, one-bite hors d’oeuvres making it easy to socialize and wander while eating. We used a mix of white, crystal, and marble platters to showcase the pretty and colorful food, and then filled out the buffet with hydrangea and green tea rose bouquets in mason jars. To satisfy our client’s sweet tooth, we set-up a blue-themed DIY candy bar in front of a large window, as a last-stop for the guests to indulge in before leaving. We always try to use tea lights and votives at every event, no matter what time of day or if it’s indoor or outdoor. We just find that candle light (or in this case, LED tea lights) bring such a warm, inviting, and calming atmosphere to a space.
We hope you enjoyed this peek into our take on a modern baby shower!
