The girls at Sparkle + Toast recently ventured to one of San Diego’s trendiest neighborhoods in search of flea market finds and other special treasures.
First stop: The San Diego Vintage Flea Market. We were super impressed with what we found there. With so many amazing collections of vintage props, furniture, tableware, and decor ripe for the picking, we found ourselves in an exercise of control and restraint! We loaded up on pieces that we had in mind for the Sparkle + Toast “prop closet,” and a few upcoming projects.
Second stop: Pigment. We give this beautiful, expertly curated shop our highest marks. It’s a wonderland of creativity, and we could have spent all day in there and still had reason to come back again and again. Here you’ll find home decor, party supplies from specialty brands, books, high-quality gifts and cards, a DIY succulent and terrarium bar, and much more!
Now on to our flea market finds!…
Wooden Gingham Napkin Ring Sets and Cobalt Glass Creamer :
We love these gingham napkin rings for dressing up a picnic-at-the-park or weekend BBQ. Cobalt is such a beautiful statement color, and this glass creamer is perfect for a small floral arrangement, or a pretty way to hold cutlery.
Vintage Tea & Coffee Tins:
How whimsical and cute are these little village tins?! They make us feel like we are wandering the cobblestone streets of an old European town. We plan to style these as vases or props for a tea party set-up, or for a “dapper-themed” little boy party or baby shower.
Tea Cups & Saucer Sets and Cake Stand:
Tea and crumpets anyone? How can you not rush to plan a tea party after spotting these perfect dainty cup/saucer sets?! The mix-and-match look of these sets gives the perfect “shabby chic” look.
Toile-Inspired Dessert Plates & Tray:
We’re always on the hunt for small plates and platters in vintage patterns. They can fit easily into many different party themes and add a touch of old world charm to a tabletop. This periwinkle tray can be propped up for display or used as a functional piece. Aren’t these red toile dessert plates perfect for sweet treats?!
